Check your protection

Don’t take our word for it: check

A VPN can appear to be connected while still leaking information. The Kayzen VPN application will include a test, and here is how to check for yourself, with any VPN.

The four checks

  • Public IP address

Before connecting, note your public IP address. After connecting, it should have changed and match the country you chose.

  • DNS leak

The DNS servers that resolve your requests should belong to the VPN, not to your internet service provider.

  • IPv6 leak

If your network has IPv6, your IPv6 address should not appear: either it goes through the tunnel, or it is blocked.

  • WebRTC leak

In the browser, WebRTC should reveal neither your real public address nor your local address.

The test built into the application

‘Check my protection’ will run these checks in a few seconds and display a clear result. The test will only contact Kayzen servers or declared servers. Without enough data, it will display ‘inconclusive’, never ‘all is well’.

With independent tools

You can also use IP address and DNS leak test sites that are independent of any VPN provider. Always compare the result with and without the VPN, and repeat the test after a change of network (switching from Wi-Fi to 4G, waking from sleep).
